Hone your photography skills in a supportive, all-women environment as we explore the beauty of Sedona by a back-country jeep ride and a railway journey down the Verde Canyon. Through a combination of interactive discussions, working sessions, and image reviews, we will capture stunning images and build a learning community of creative women photographers.

Instructors

Colleen Miniuk-Sperry

As an award-winning internationally-published outdoor photographer and writer, Colleen J. Miniuk-Sperry supports a wide range of assignments for editorial, fine art, and stock clients, specializing in nature, outdoor recreation, conservation, and travel. Her publication credits include National Geographic calendars, Arizona Highways magazine, calendars, and books, Outdoor Photographer, AAA Highroads, AAA Via, InsideOutside Southwest, Sonora Es, Smith-Southwestern calendars, and a broad variety of other publications.
In late 2011, she co-authored and published the guide book, Wild in Arizona: Photographing Arizona’s Wildflowers, A Guide to When, Where, & How (www.wildinarizona.com). In its first year, the book won seven international book awards, including the International Book Awards “Best Nature Photography Book” and the USA Book Awards “Best Travel/Travel Guide.” Her second guidebook, Photographing Acadia National Park: The Essential Guide to When, Where, and How (www.photoacadia.com) released in late January 2014 release.
Colleen enjoys leading photography workshops for the Arizona Highways Photography Workshops, Maine Media Workshops+College, Arizona Wildlife Federation, The Nature Conservancy, Through Each Others Eyes, and numerous private clients.
She is an Associate of Through Each Others Eyes (TEOE) and an active member and Board Member in the Outdoor Writers Association of America (OWAA), where she has won numerous Excellence in Craft awards for her photography, book, and blog, as well as the prestigious 2010 President’s Choice Award and the 2013 People’s Choice Award. Colleen has been honored to serve as an Artist-in-Residence three times with Acadia National Park in November 2009, October 2010, and January/February 2013. 
Armed with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, Colleen Miniuk-Sperry moved to Phoenix in 1997 to begin a 10-year project management career at Intel Corporation. Initially as an outlet to corporate life, she began making photographs of the Western United States landscapes in late 2001. Then, she left Intel in early 2007 to pursue a full-time career in photography and writing.
Originally hailing from Ohio, Arkansas, and Illinois, Colleen currently resides in Chandler, Arizona with her husband, Craig, and her cat, Nolan.
