Tethering to Prevent Camera, Computer, and Cable Damage in Digital Photography
Relieve the stress. We’re not talking about personal mantras here; we’re talking about your very expensive, very beautiful digital photography equipment. Ever have a cable or power cord suddenly dislodge from your camera in the middle of a shoot? Or, worse, has the cable ever been jerked out of your equipment, damaging the cable, camera, or computer ports? Yeah, we’ve probably all been there. And it’s not pleasant. Prior experience led us to develop the JerkStopper Tethering Kit, which includes devices to secure both camera and computer. It relieves stress (there are those magical words again) from the cable or cord and provides a different anchor point, ensuring that the plugs stay where they should.

The JerkStopper retention device provides slack to the cord where it is needed. This all means increased equipment security and the assurance that your cable will not dislodge, so you can keep shooting. The JerkStopper works with any USB, FireWire, flash sync or HDMI cable, as well as a laptop A/C power cord. It will support any cable or cord with diameters from 3.5 to 8.5 millimeters. The JerkStopper Tethering Kit includes two separate components, and camera and computer support. When selecting the computer support portion of your tethering kit, you’ll have a choice of four configurations. The first three options – USB, RJ45 or RJ11 – all utilize a spare computer port to create the anchor point and cable slack.

The flat mount design attaches directly to your Tether Table or any surface with Velcro. Visit our website for more information on how to prevent equipment damage with the JerkStopper Tethering Kit.
