Headshot Photographer Tony Taafe Puts the Tether Table Aero iMac to the Test
One of our very first products, the Tether Table Aero iMac has a long, rich history and was crafted out of a need for photographers to have a professional, secure workstation when shooting out in the field or in a studio.  The Tether Table Aero iMac attaches easily to virtually any tripod, rolling stand, or c-stand and is compatible with all standard mounting hardware. Made of brushed aluminum, the table features a SecureGrip Stability Bar with non-slip padding that secures your iMac to the table to prevent slipping and can be removed allowing the table to be used as a laptop platform. We recently interviewed Scottsdale, Arizona based headshot photographer Tony Taafe about the Tether Table Aero iMac, here’s what he had to say.  Follow Tony on Instagram at @tony_taafe_photo and connect online at tonytaafe.com.

How would you describe your type of photography?

I’m a headshot photographer. I love the one on one aspect of it. I like the clean, modern style of headshots brought to us by the likes of Peter Hurley. I’m a Mentor in Peter’s Headshot Crew, and so much of work is influenced by Peter and what he’s achieved over the past few years. Capturing somebody’s personality in their headshots is a special thing to do for them. As well as actors, models etc. I work with a lot of corporate people. Individuals, and employees for large and small organizations. Most corporate people hate getting their headshot taken, it makes them uncomfortable to even have a camera pointed at them, let alone have any responsibility for what their face is doing while it’s pointed at them. So, I love working with those men and women to get them a shot that they love and can be proud of.

How do you use the Tether Table Aero iMac as part of your workflow?

The Tether Table Aero iMac doesn’t leave my side for the whole time that I’m shooting in the studio. I have it on a Tether Tools Low Boy Roller, and so wherever I go while I’m shooting, I can just wheel my iMac right next to me. If I move the lights and move my tripod, the iMac Table comes along with me. I use it so much that I got rid of the desk I had in the studio because I found that I didn’t need it anymore and it just became somewhere for me to put useless things on top of. When I’m finished shooting, I wheel it over to the seating area where my client is for image selection. The table is rock solid and having a 27-inch screen within a couple of feet of me whenever I’m shooting is huge for my workflow now.

Would you recommend the Tether Table Aero iMac to photographers who already have an iMac computer?

Absolutely. The table itself is rock solid, and somehow extremely lightweight. I could take it off the Low Boy Roller and put in in my trunk for on-location use in just a few seconds. I could never see myself wanting to go back to having my iMac on the desk now. It’d just feel so inconvenient. It’s a no-brainer! Learn more and purchase a Tether Table Aero iMac on the product page.
