Securing Your Tethered Cable with the LeverLock
Posted by: Tom Pitts on Feb 20, 2018
Any photographer who shoots tethered will tell you that one of the most frustrating things that could happen on set is an accidental disconnection of the cable from the camera. You’re left having to restart your program, and what’s worse is the possibility of a damaged camera port from the cable being harshly ripped out and disconnected, usually due to someone tripping on the cable.
Tether Tools has two solutions to put this problem to a rest, the TetherGuard LeverLock Plate and the TetherGuard Camera Support.
The TetherGuard Camera Support creates an anchor point, removing the stress and strain from a cable, ensuring the camera’s data port is protected from damage or dislodging in case of a jerk. Once installed, the included quick disconnect enables future tethering set-up in seconds.
Priced at $18.99 USD the TetherGuard Camera Support is a great introductory cable management solution. For a more robust option, Tether Tools recently added the TetherGuard LeverLock Plate to our product line.
The TetherGuard® LeverLock™ Plate allows you to effortlessly connect or remove a cable from the camera without having to remove the plate from the camera, making setup and break-down a breeze. By locking the cable to the camera, you ensure a secure connection and protect the camera port and cable from damage.
The LeverLock Plate boasts a 5-Point Protection system, ensuring your equipment stays safe and secure at all times. Featuring a CamCleat Lever, Anti-Slip Speed Bump, two Retention Ridges, and a cable S-Channel, this plate provides comprehensive protection for your camera’s sensitive ports and cable. With the LeverLock Plate, you can shoot with confidence knowing your gear is fully protected. Rubber non-slip pads ensure that the LeverLock Plate stays aligned on your camera, providing an additional layer of security during even the most demanding shoots. And with our limited lifetime warranty, you can shoot with confidence knowing that your investment is protected.
For photographers shooting tethered using a USB-C cable connection, we recommend the TetherGuard LeverLock Plate & Cable bundle.
