We love shooting tethered but we’ll admit… taking cables, laptops, and your full on-set rig out in nature isn’t an optimal proposition. Thankfully, there’s another option. The Case Air Wireless Tethering System connects your camera to mobile devices such as a tablet or smartphone, allowing you to trigger and view images on a larger screen anywhere in the world. From remote triggering your camera with a range up to 150 feet or viewing images on a larger screen such as a tablet or phone as you’re shooting, there are plenty of reasons to bring the ultra-lightweight Case Air Wireless Tethering System out into nature. We spoke with photographer Pollee Brookings from the Pacific Northwest about how she used the Case Air Wireless Tethering System while out on an excursion in the Opal Creek Wilderness. Getting Started with Nature and Nighttime Photography I primarily enjoy nature photography as a hobby and have had a Canon DSLR for awhile but haven’t been able to capture a waterfall or get into night photography as I hadn’t yet purchased a tripod or remote system. My husband bought me both for Christmas and it’s been a complete game changer. Night photographer is cold, dark and cumbersome if you’re just learning. The Case Air allows me to play around with the variables involved in nighttime photography in an easy, fun and painless way. The first time I ever took nighttime photos I was lying on a concrete pad outside a yurt near Bryce Canyon, freezing my hands and rear end off, trying to focus and balance my camera on the ground. I had a hard time seeing the photos after they were taken without ruining my night vision and thus had a hard time adjusting my settings accordingly. Getting Started with the Case Air My first experience with my Tether system was a million times more comfortable and so much easier. The system has worked very well in several outdoor settings – on a rainy waterfall-chasing hike, frigid starry nights at high elevation, and for nighttime city scenes here in Portland. My favorite aspect of the Case Air Wireless Tethering System is the well-designed Case Remote app interface that allows me to use Live-view mode and view recent images. I would absolutely recommend this easy to use system for anyone who is doing outdoor photography, especially at night! Learn more about Case Air and how it can help you get the shot!
