Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 not working with Microsoft Windows 7?  Here’s a quick fix tutorial.

Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 is one of the most popular tethering software packages available for Nikon shooters.  The software makes shooting directly from your camera into your computer a smooth and seamless experience.  It is a simple reliable tethering software solution that is easy to use.

Microsoft’s Windows 7, a fantastic operating system, is paving the way for the future advancements in operating systems and computing platforms.  However, upgrading to Windows 7 creates incompatibilities with the current version of Nikon’s Camera Control Pro 2.  Fortunately, Tether Talk has mapped out a quick and easy tutorial to get you back up and shooting in no time.

First, simply navigate into the Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 folder and right click on the NControlPro, then select “Properties”.  Once you have opened the properties box click on the “Compatibility” tab at the top of the dialog box.

Check “Run this program in compatibilty mode for:” box and then drop down to “Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)”.  Place a checkmark on “Run this program as an administrator”

Click “Apply” at the bottom of the dialog box and you should be all set to go.  Restart Camera Control and start shooting.  Enjoy.
