Describe your experience as a Tether Tools Top Pro?
Ever since becoming a Tether Tools Top Pro, my career has taken a slight turn – for the better. I am now able to engage, educate, and inspire other photographers not only in Toronto, Canada, but also worldwide. Within Canada, I have been recognized as the go-to guy for Tether Tools products, especially when it comes to workflow. I’ve been fortunate enough to present at the ProFusion event in 2019 and a few other photographer-specific ones throughout the year. The team at Tether Tools has been incredibly supportive from not only a professional level, but also a personal one. This alone is something I am grateful for as few brands are as connected with their brand ambassadors as Tether Tools is – kudos!
What does the Tether Tools Top Pro Program mean to you?
It means a great deal. Having used Tether Tools gear for a number of years, being asked to represent the brand in Canada and recognized worldwide is a true honour. Tether Tools is a highly respected brand by many photographers and industry leaders. Having Tether Tools’ support in backing me, my work, my brand, and the way in which I engage with others is incredible. Furthermore, I get to try the latest innovations, get some free sway/gear (always a great perk), and provide feedback on ways to improve products. That one-on-one connection is vital between a brand and their representatives.
What would you like to see in the future as a Tether Tools Top Pro?
- Interactive content on social or other means between Top Pros and Tether Tools – in way of IG LIVE, IG takeover, etc.
- A yearly get together of Top Pros to connect (i.e. #TetherToolsCamp similar to Sony), not necessarily at a trade show due to prior commitments and possible scheduling issues.
- More live bios or features highlighting who the Top Pros are and what they’re up to monthly or bi-monthly. It keeps the Tether Tools audience engaged with each Top Pro (in their region or photographic specialty), but also provides a great two-way street for marketing/branding purposes.
What is the one piece of Tether Tools gear you cannot live without?
My TetherPro cable… although now it is easily replaced by the Air Direct. The Air Direct is my go-to system now and the coolest thing is that clients (even art directors / producers) are mystified on how it works.
If you could request Tether Tools make one piece of gear, what would it be?
A way to hang and secure seamless paper rolls (be it the small 4-ft or large 9ft), ideally for studio application.
