This app was named iPad App of the Year in 2012. Paper is designed to work like a piece of digital paper. The free version only comes with one brush, but there are many upgrades to this app that will allow for further drawing and sketching capabilities. Currently only available for iPad, you can download at the App Store.

We love the easy manipulation of Paper’s brushes and the uncomplicated toolbar. – Max Knoblauch, Mashable

A few months back, Adobe announced that soon they will be releasing the ability to edit your photos on your iPad through Lightroom. Then when you sync up to your computer, all the edits you had done on your iPad will reflect within the actual Lightroom app on your computer. Tom Hogarty was a featured guest on Scott Kelby’s The GRID where he was showing off the company’s concept of ‘Lightroom on-the-go Photo Editing’ for the iPad. Even though Hogarty wouldn’t confirm nor deny what the app would do or when it would be available, he did offer several details about its features:

  • The ability to edit photos taken in raw photo formats, including Lightroom develop-module parameters like exposure, clarity, shadows, highlights, and white balance.
  • Cloud-synchronized editing so that changes made on a tablet arrive on the same photo on the PC.
  • The ability to zoom all the way to 100 percent for checking photo focus and details.

For photographers or creative professionals everywhere, this has a significant impact on how efficiency and workflows will eventually be done.
